On the fourth day of the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys win clearly against the New England Patriots. Meanwhile, struggling Arizona Cardinals lose at San Francisco 49ers.

Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers 16:35

The San Francisco 49ers continue to extend their winning streak, winning their first four games of the season. Running back Christian McCaffrey was the match-winner against a struggling Cardinals team.

The former first-round pick contributed a total of 177 yards and scored four touchdowns. Away from “CMC”, quarterback Brock Purdy remained flawless. The youngster completed 20 of his 21 passes. He accounted for 283 yards and one touchdown.

He especially served wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (six catches, 148 yards).

Cardinals quarterback Josh Dobbs, meanwhile, repeatedly posed problems for the 49ers defence with accurate passes. The veteran, who has established himself as a starter for the Cardinals, found a teammate with 28 of his 41 passes. Both of his touchdown passes were caught by rookie Michael Wilson.

The Cardinals – despite a good performance – suffer their third loss of the season.

New England Patriots @ Dallas Cowboys 3:38

After a surprising loss to the Arizona Cardinals last game day, the Dallas Cowboys found their way back to winning ways.

A Dak Prescott touchdown pass, a Hunter Luepke touchdown run, two defensive touchdowns and three field goals paved the way for victory against a Patriots offence that endured a pitch black day.

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones was benched after two interceptions and a fumble just before the fourth quarter and replaced by Bailey Zappe. The running game wasn’t happening either. Ezekiel Elliott collected just 16 rushing yards in his return, while Rhamondre Stevenson finished with 30.

It’s the third loss of the season for the Patriots, while the Cowboys are enjoying their third win.

Las Vegas Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers 17:24

Right from the start of the game, Raiders defensive tackle and former Chargers player Jerry Tillery caused an upset. The 26-year-old knocked quarterback Justin Herbert out of his socks after he was already in the sideline.

Pandemonium ensued from both teams, Tillery was sent off by the referee crew and was not allowed to play again.

Athletically, the Chargers defence was convincing several times in the person of Khalil Mack. The pass rusher contributed six (!) sacks and forced two fumbles. A historic evening for the former Raiders star.

Quarterback Aidan O’Connell made his NFL debut for his former employer. He suffered two fumbles and completed 24 of his X passes in the passing game. He also recorded an interception.

On the Chargers’ offensive side, the passing game didn’t really get going – except for a few individual actions.

However, Justin Herbert, who injured his left hand, was able to rush for 31 yards and two touchdowns.

For the Chargers it is the second win of the season, for the Raiders the third loss.
