Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins injured in Packers loss

The Arizona Cardinals may have paid dearly for their first loss of the season. Two of their stars are apparently injured. However, an exact diagnosis has not yet been made.

Glendale/Munich – The Arizona Cardinals may have paid dearly for their first loss of the season.

In the 21:24 loss to the Green Bay Packers, Cards quarterback Kyler Murray limped across the field in the closing seconds. He had previously landed awkwardly on a tackle by the Packers defence. TV pictures show that his left ankle was particularly affected.

An exact diagnosis is still pending, but an injury to the passer would be a major setback for the Cardinals, who have been so strong so far.

DeAndre Hopkins banged up again

Star receiver DeAndre Hopkins also suffered a setback. After being unable to practice all week due to a thigh injury, he still lined up against the Packers. But after a 55-yard catch in the first quarter, Hopkins caught his leg. Though he came back after that, he was on the field for only 14 total plays.

“We wanted him to stay off the field, but he just keeps running. He wants to play,” Arizona coach Kliff Kingsbury said after the game. It remains to be seen to what extent the Cardinals will be able to call on their two stars in the coming week.
