Amon-Ra St. Brown back with the Detroit Lions: “There are no excuses”.

The Detroit Lions and Amon-Ra St. Brown have used Bye Week to make some adjustments. In Week 7, the team, which stands at a 1-4 record, has to play at the Dallas Cowboys. “There’s no excuses, for me or for the team,” St. Brown said.

Munich – The bye week has done Amon-Ra St. Brown good. The Detroit Lions also benefited from the break. After the 0:29 defeat in Week 5 at the New England Patriots, both St. Brown and the team had to lick their wounds.

St. Brown because although he was back on the field against the Patriots after his ankle injury, he only completed 21 snaps and had just four catches for 18 yards. Before his injury, the wide receiver stood at 253 yards and three touchdowns after three games.

Amon-Ra St. Brown: Not always at 100 percent

“It was good,” St. Brown said earlier this week about the break. “I had a week off, I was able to rest and get some treatment at home. It feels better, better than last week.”

At completely 100 per cent, however, St Brown is unlikely to be in Sundays game at the Dallas Cowboys. As he reveals, however, that is rarely the case over the course of a season anyway.

“I hate not being at 100 percent, but in this league sometimes 85 percent or whatever it is is all you have,” St. Brown said. “You have to make the best of it, it has to work. So there are no excuses, for me or for the team. I just have to keep working, get better and give it everything I’ve got.”

The Lions are 1-4 after the loss to the Patriots, despite some positives and only losing close games. To give the team a boost again, head coach Dan Campbell has stepped up training, revamping it more towards a camp level.

So maybe the Lions can put a positive spin on the season after all.

Detroit Lions: More intensive training

“I think that will help us as a team,” St. Brown said. “On Sundays, it’s about winning matchups in 1-on-1s.” Intensity in practice is important for that, he said. “Getting them back is going to be really important for us as a team. I think that’s the kind of team we are, we’re gritty, we fight.”

The Lions now want to get back to their strengths, with the Patriots game ticked off. “Looking at the first four weeks, we know what we’re capable of,” St Brown said.
