U9 football coach’s murder: brother of Aqib Talib turns himself in to police

The brother of former NFL star Aqib Talib has turned himself in to police after a fatal shooting.

Munich – A fatal shooting occurred at a junior football game in Lancaster, Texas, on Saturday. In the process, 43-year-old football coach Michael Hickmon was shot in front of his son at the end of the game at Lancaster Community Park.

The alleged perpetrator then initially fled after shooting the Dragon Elite Academy coach five times, according to media reports, but later turned himself in to Lancaster police.

Aqib Talib present at football coach’s murder

The suspect in the crime is Yaqub Salik Talib. The 39-year-old is the brother of former NFL star Aqib Talib. While the crime took place, Aqib Talib was also present.

According to media reports and eyewitness accounts, Yaqub Salik Talib was angry about his team’s defeat and wanted to attack the referee. A scuffle then ensued and the fatal shots were fired.

According to his lawyer, former NFL pro Aqib Talib is “devastated” over what happened. “He would like to extend his condolences to the victim’s family and everyone who witnessed this unfortunate tragedy,” Aqib Talib’s lawyer is quoted as saying by “TMZ”.

As reported by The Dallas Morning News, Yaqub Salik Talib was handed over to the Dallas County jail on Monday.
