Peyton and Eli Manning: NFL Club Owners Instead of Salary Waivers

Why didn’t Peyton Manning take a job with an NFL club long ago? And why never waived salary? One journalist believes he has the answer.

Munich – Tom Brady did it, Ben Roethlisberger did it. Numerous well-known quarterbacks have waived money.

The background: to have money for the team to put a powerful squad on the field to win the Super Bowl.

Two quarterbacks have done it differently their entire careers: Peyton and Eli Manning.

Manning’s eye on Denver Broncos

As it has now come out, for a very specific reason: to rake in dough to become the owner of an NFL club, as journalist Albert Breer – reporting for “NBC Boston” and “Sports Illustrated” among others – revealed on the “Dan Patrick Show” podcast.

While he is not sure whether the accumulated assets are enough for a takeover, as part of an ownership group this would be quite conceivable. And Breer already named a club: the Denver Broncos.

According to Breer, Peyton Manning had also given up several jobs in the NFL because he did not want to move away from Denver. So joining the Broncos as part owner together with brother Eli would be obvious.

The Denver Broncos are currently owned by the Bowlen family, who took over the club after the death of former owner Pat Bowlen.
