Tom Brady: Birmingham City fans angry with celebrity co-owner after relegation

Birmingham City’s co-owner Tom Brady has drawn the ire of fans following the traditional soccer club’s relegation to third-tier League One.

The fate of former Premier League club Birmingham City is sealed!

The soccer club of co-owner Tom Brady was relegated to the third-tier League One despite a 1-0 home win against Norwich City on the final matchday of the Championship.

Jude Bellingham’s former club finished the Championship season in 22nd place with 50 points after 46 games, the first time Birmingham have been relegated from England’s top two divisions since 1995.

With relegation now certain, there was a stampede of angry fans at St. Andrew’s Stadium, and supporters of the relegated second division side also vented their anger on social media.

The target of much of the hostility was seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady, who was not in the stadium for the game against Norwich, preferring instead to be a guest at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami. As a result, many Birmingham supporters questioned Brady’s passion for the club, among other things.

Many Birmingham supporters vented their anger under a tweet from Brady following the relegation, in which he thanked the fans for their support, among other things, but there was also mockery and malice against the former star of the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In addition, Brady, together with the US ownership group, also stands for the dismissal of former coach John Eustace in October 2023, when Birmingham were still in 5th place.

This was followed by the downfall of former world-class striker Wayne Rooney as Eustace’s successor, and the former Manchester United star was also sacked during the course of the season.
