Football star Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara are paying for one million meals for people who are in trouble on the West Coast of the United States because of the corona crisis. This was announced by the Seattle Seahawks’ quarterback from the professional NFL league and the pop singer in a video clip on Tuesday evening (local time).

Corona crisis: NFL quarterbacks donate meals

The couple support the company “Food Lifeline”, which helps the needy in the US state of Washington. Until Tuesday there were over 1,000 corona and 52 deaths – 43 of them in King County, where Seattle is located.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes of Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs had previously paid for 15,000 meals. Through his foundation (“15 and the Mahomies”), the playmaker will also donate $100,000 to charities.
