Bad news for Michael Thomas. The wide receiver, who is currently a free agent, is suspended by the NFL
Former Saints receiver Michael Thomas has not yet found an NFL team for the new season. If that changes before the start of the season, he still won’t be able to play in Week 1.
The NFL has officially announced that the pass receiver will be suspended for one game. This is a penalty under the Personal Conduct Policy.
The league’s decision stems from an arrest in November 2023, when Thomas allegedly threw a brick at the windshield of a construction worker’s truck at a house in the athlete’s neighborhood. He is also said to have knocked a cell phone out of a person’s hand and pushed them.
The 31-year-old set the single-season receptions record in the 2019 season with 149 receptions. In Week 1 of the following season, he injured his ankle, after which his career never really took off.
He was released by the Saints last March.
