NFL: 15th matchday for the Germans – Amon-Ra St. Brown shines again and writes German football history

In Detroit, Amon-Ra St. Brown is developing more and more into the top starting station. His brother EQ has to watch out injured, Jakob Johnson makes a momentous mistake at the New England Patriots.

Munich – Thanks in part to Amon-Ra St. Brown, the Detroit Lions celebrated a big surprise victory against the Arizona Cardinals. His upward trend thus continues.

Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit Lions)

Amon-Ra St. Brown is in top form and is becoming the Detroit Lions’ most dangerous weapon in the passing game. In the sensational 30:12 win against the highly favoured Arizona Cardinals, the German-American achieved several best scores.

Early in the second quarter, he caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff on the left side. St. Brown is thus the first player with German roots to score two touchdowns in his career.

Markus Kuhn, Jakob Johnson and his brother Equanimeous St. Brown each scored one.

However, it is unlikely that Amon-Ra will only score two touchdowns, given his impressive form. Against the Cardinals, he caught eight passes for 90 yards – no Lions receiver recorded a bigger gain. For the 22-year-old, the 90 yards were also a career best.

In total, he was on the turf for 45 offensive plays (69 percent) and four special teams plays (16 percent).

Next week, Detroit faces the Atlanta Falcons.

Equanimeous St. Brown (Green Bay Packers)

Meanwhile, Equanimeous St. Brown had to watch his Green Bay Packers pull off a dramatic 31-30 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

The receiver suffered a mild concussion in the game against the Chicago Bears and therefore did not play against the Ravens.

Whether he will be fit in time for the clash against the Cleveland Browns remains to be seen.

Jakob Johnson (New England Patriots)

After seven wins in a row, the New England Patriots conceded another defeat. Against the Indianapolis Colts, the team around fullback Jakob Johnson lost 17:27.

After an interception by quarterback Mac Jones, Johnson made a tackle and at least kept the Colts from a strong return.

On a blocked punt just before the end of the first quarter, however, the Stuttgart native did not look good and failed to make a block. His opponent Matthew Adams was thus able to block the ball and the Colts scored a touchdown.
