“Time for a Dynasty”: Chris Jones promises a golden future for Kansas City

Last February’s Super Bowl victory is not said to have been the last for the Chiefs. Star-defensive tackle Chris Jones dreams of a glorious future for the franchise and promises the fans further triumphs.

Last week, Chris Jones signed a new mega-contract with the Kansas City Chiefs and, alongside Patrick Mahomes, is the second player to remain with the Super Bowl champions for the long term. In a radio show, the Defensive Tackle promises a glorious future.

Five rings for Kansas City
“This is just the beginning,” Jones said Monday on KCSP 610 Sports Radio. “We’re planning another victory parade and another and another. We’ll do everything we can to bring not one, not two, not three, not four, but five or more Super Bowl rings to Kansas City.”

Before winning Super Bowl LIV, the franchise had to wait 50 years for the next championship in the NFL. That wait is over now, Jones promised: “It’s time to create a Dynasty.”

Role model New England Patriots
With five or more Super Bowl wins, the NFL would definitely be one of the reasons for such dominance. It’s not impossible, but it’s difficult. The Chiefs have had to make up for lost time in every game in the past playoffs, with Kansas City trailing the San Francisco 49ers by ten points with seven minutes remaining in the Super Bowl alone.

Furthermore, in times of Corona, Free Agency and Salary Cap, it will be very difficult to keep a winning team together in the long run – a challenge that the Chiefs will also have to overcome in the coming years. The New England Patriots have been proving just how possible such a winning streak can be since 2001. With six Super Bowl victories, they are the only dynasty to emerge from the Salary Cap era.

With Chris Jones and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs already have a solid foundation on which to build a new dominance in the NFL. One thing is for sure: The victory in Super Bowl LIV will not be the last for the Chiefs.
