Pittsburg Steelers: NFL imposes mega fine on Sutton

Although the assault case against Cameron Sutton has been dropped, the NFL is imposing a severe suspension on the Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback.

Cameron Sutton has been suspended by the NFL for eight games for a violation of the league’s rules of conduct. The Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback will not receive a salary in the meantime. This was reported by NFL insider Mike Garafolo via “X”.

The NFL had been investigating an incident from March, as a result of which Sutton had been charged with assault. The charges were dropped after the 29-year-old participated in an alternative program in April.

Such a measure offers offenders an alternative to criminal prosecution. The aim is usually to rehabilitate offenders through therapy, educational measures or community service.

Sutton may not return to action until the end of October

Nevertheless, the NFL did not want to let Sutton get away with it. The cornerback, who only signed with the Steelers in June, won’t be available again until October 29 – after the Week 8 game against the New York Giants.
