Travis Kelce gets really angry in response to scathing criticism of Shedeur Sanders and calls on the anonymous critic to reveal themselves.
How did college star Shedeur Sanders end up being picked in the fifth round of the NFL draft?
Many experts believe one reason is that the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback was heavily criticized by an anonymous coach in the run-up to the draft.
The assistant coach told NFL Network that he had conducted “the worst formal job interview” of his life with Sanders. He also described Sanders as “smug” and his body language as “terrible.”
Travis Kelce also believes that this report contributed to Sanders’ disastrous draft result.
In the podcast “New Heights,” which he hosts with his brother Jason, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was extremely upset about the coach, whose identity was not revealed.
Kelce: “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“Whoever this damn anonymous person is who’s saying this, they should come forward and say who they are. What the hell is that supposed to mean?” the 35-year-old said angrily.
He himself praised Sanders: “I thought he was much better, he doesn’t seem like a terrible person. He just seems like a motivated football player who is part of a big football family.”
Sanders only selected at position 144
The 23-year-old was only selected at position 144 by the Cleveland Browns and will have to compete with Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett for a spot on the team.
Kelce believes he will prevail with the Browns in the long run. “I can see him working his ass off and eventually becoming the starting quarterback in Cleveland,” said the three-time Super Bowl winner.
