No surprise with the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft: The Tennessee Titans select quarterback Cam Ward.
Cam Ward is the number one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Unsurprisingly, the Tennessee Titans selected the quarterback with the first pick in the talent draft in Green Bay.
The 22-year-old played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, throwing for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns with seven interceptions last season.
The playmaker was already considered by many experts to be the likely number one pick in the run-up to the draft.
Ward succeeds quarterback Caleb Williams, who was drafted first overall by the Chicago Bears in 2024.
NFL Draft 2025: Jaguars trade high
The first surprise came right after that: the Cleveland Browns and the Jacksonville Jaguars traded their first-round picks.
The Jaguars, who sent their number 5 pick and a 2026 first-round pick to Cleveland, selected Travis Hunter (Colorado) with their newly acquired number 2 pick. Hunter is considered both the best wide receiver and the best cornerback in the draft and can play both positions at the highest level.
The New York Giants drafted defensive end Abdul Carter (Penn State) with the third pick. The New England Patriots took tackle Will Campbell from LSU with the fourth pick.
The Browns then used the fifth pick, which they had acquired in a trade with the Jaguars, to draft defensive tackle Mason Graham (Michigan).
NFL Draft 2025: Packers pick wide receiver
Mood highlight of the evening: the Packers’ pick in the first draft ever held in Green Bay.
For the first time since 2002, the “Cheeseheads” selected a wide receiver in the first round with Matthew Golden (Texas) – a long-held wish of the fans for many years. The more than 100,000 fans in front of Lambeau Field thanked President Mark Murphy with deafening noise.
