Peyton Manning jokes: His mother prevented more Super Bowl rings for Tom Brady

Tom Brady is by far the most successful NFL player with seven Super Bowls won. Quarterback legend Peyton Manning jokes TB12 would have more if it weren’t for Mama Manning

.
Tom Brady won his seventh Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. After almost two decades with the New England Patriots, he also picked up where he left off with his new team.

But the quarterback could have considerably more rings if it weren’t for Olivia Manning. At least that’s what her son, playmaking legend Peyton Manning, amusedly declared in an interview.

Mom Manning cost Brady Super Bowl wins

This week, Brady joins pro golfer Phil Mickelson against Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and and his golf partner Bryson DeChambeau.

During a show to tune into “The Match”, Manning joked in regards to the seven Super Bowl rings in Brady’s house: “If it wasn’t for my mum, Olivia Manning, he’d have 11 of them.”

Peyton Manning has won the Super Bowl twice in his career. In the 2006 season with the Colts against the Bears and in the 2015 season with the Broncos against the Panthers. Both times he beat Brady in the AFC Championship Game, spoiling his dream of winning the Super Bowl just before the finish line.

His younger brother Eli inflicted two even worse defeats on TB12. In the 2007 and 2011 seasons, he defeated Brady in the Super Bowl with the New York Giants.

To this day, TB12 has to be raised by the younger of the two Manning brothers because of this.

Manning brothers eliminated Brady five times

However, Peyton Manning’s statement has not proven to be accurate. In the 2013 season, he also beat Brady’s Patriots in the AFC final with the Denver Broncos, but they suffered a bitter 8:43 loss to the Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

It seems as if Manning assumed that Brady would have experienced a similar fate. Otherwise he would have joked that his mother saved Brady from twelve rings instead of eleven.
