Last year showed that you need a fair amount of luck to get the coveted tickets. In addition, one should have registered beforehand. This was possible until 16 June. Without this registration, things look bad.

If you come away empty-handed from regular ticket sales, it’s worth keeping your eyes open for competitions. There should be a few in the coming weeks and months.

NFL in Germany: Will the Kansas City Chiefs also be visiting in 2024?

Yes, at least that’s what the “Bild” and the “Kansas City Star” report in agreement. According to the report, the team around star quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be a guest in Germany two years in a row.

While the Chiefs will play the Miami Dolphins in 2023, they will allegedly face the Carolina Panthers one year later. The venue is said to be Munich, where the first NFL game on German soil took place in the Allianz Arena in 2022.

NFL in Germany: Could games be played in other German cities in the near future?

This is rather not to be expected. Although Düsseldorf has just been named Germany’s NFL capital, this could also be seen as more of a consolation prize after the NRW capital lost out to Munich and Frankfurt in the bid to host NFL games.

NFL expert King rather assumes that the league will continue to expand. He writes: “The NFL will eventually host games outside England and Germany. Miami could play a game in Spain or Brazil in the next three or four years. The Rams are optimistic about playing in Australia one day. But clearly the market with the biggest prospects is Europe.”

Speculation is already rife about NFL games at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana Stadium, Barcelona’s Camp Nou, Real Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabeu or city rivals Atletico’s Estadio Metropolitano.

Will there soon even be an NFL team from Germany?

These are the hopes Goodell has been nurturing lately. The NFL boss said on the sidelines of the second London Game: “We’re trying to figure out right now if you could find some places that could be home to an NFL franchise because it’s significantly easier to implement something like that within a division.” This would avoid weekly trips across the pond, as six games of each season – around a third – would be played in Europe.

But that would require four franchises in Europe. Goodell sees the potential for two of them in the English capital. Further, the Big Boss stressed: “Yes, we want to expand in Europe, but there are still some details to work out – not just the obvious ones.”

NFL insider King is sceptical, at least in the short term. That’s because the league doesn’t want to increase the number of 32 teams, he said, and he doesn’t see any team on the verge of wanting to leave the US. This has been said for years of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who visited London for the ninth time in October. However, in 2018, the proposed sale of Wembley Stadium to club owner Shahid Khan had fallen through.
