New England Patriots: Thief steals quarterback wristband from Mac Jones – Next theft probably already in planning

In Week 11, the New England Patriots played host to the Atlanta Falcons. Despite a clear 25-0 victory, Mac Jones’ team had to mourn a bitter loss: an arm cuff with the playcalls of the offense.

Foxborough/Munich – Unfair advantages and the New England Patriots have a long history in the NFL.

But for the first time, it’s hitting the six-time Super Bowl winners themselves and not an opponent of the Massachusetts club. A crafty thief may have pulled off the heist of a lifetime in Atlanta.

New England Patriots: Several items stolen from cabin

As reported by the well-known Patriots fan “Spike King” on Twitter, there were several unexplained cases of theft during the Patriots’ successful guest game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Some valuables were reportedly stolen from the visiting locker room, including Mac Jones’ quarterback wristband.

Valuable sleeve includes Patriots offensive playcalls and helps rookie give direction to teammates in the huddle.

Since NFL teams’ playbooks are kept tightly under wraps, one team would have a huge strategic advantage should it come into possession of the wristband.

In addition to the individual playcalls, the rookie playmaker’s personal notes can also be found on the item, such as the words “patience” (patience) and “defence read and react” (read + react).

Guest game of Tom Brady: Thieves want to strike again

“I wanted to go public with this to make damn sure the NFL keeps an eye on thefts like this,” the fan explains, “There’s a black market out there getting items like this and then selling them. It’s not right.”

Jones’ bracelet was reportedly not the only Patriots item stolen from the locker room. For example, socks belonging to backup playmaker Jarrett Stidham are also missing.

As “Spike King” has learned, the thieves are planning to strike again next Sunday. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and star quarterback Tom Brady will be in Atlanta at 7:00 pm.

The thief works in the guest locker room at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and therefore has ideal access to the valuable items, an anonymous contact reportedly revealed to the busy Patriots fan.
