New England Patriots: Mac Jones Pick Six – Patriots quarterback moves up to match Brady.

Since Mac Jones took over as the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots, he has come under constant criticism. Now in his third year as a starter, he has already matched Patriots legend Tom Brady in a certain negative mark.

In the first quarter of the game between the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints, Mac Jones lined up to pass under pressure. The ball landed in the hands of Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu, who carried it 25 yards into the end zone. In his 36th NFL appearance, Jones thus threw the twenty-eighth interception of his career – and the fifth of the season.

In addition, it was Jones’ fourth pick six at the Patriots’ home stadium, Gillette Stadium. He is now already tied with NFL legend Tom Brady, as only four of his interceptions at Gillette Stadium have ended in a defensive touchdown in his 23-year career. Mac Jones has played 19 games at Gillette Stadium so far, Tom Brady 135.

It’s almost impossible for any player to come away well in a head-to-head matchup with the winningest NFL quarterback in history. But Mac Jones continues to show weaknesses as a Patriots playmaker, and the voices labelling him a bust are growing louder.
