Kansas City Chiefs – Travis Kelce doesn’t want a raise: “I’d rather win”.

Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is the best and most important receiver of his team and of his quarterback Patrick Mahomes despite his position as tight end. However, the 33-year-old doesn’t necessarily want a pay raise. What he wants instead are wins.

In the NFL, for many players, it’s about being paid appropriately based on their quality.

Tyreek Hill joined the Miami Dolphins for this reason, where he earns 30 million dollars a year. His former teammate Travis Kelce, however, despite being arguably the best tight end in the league, isn’t necessarily looking to squeeze out more money, though he probably deserves it.

Kelce doesn’t want the most money: “Winning is better for me “

Kelce told Vanity Fair, “My agents love to tell me I’m underpaid,” Kelce laughed. In 2023, he earns around $12.3 million. That ranks him only fourth among tight ends in the NFL.

“Sure, you see Tyreek getting 30 million a year and you think to yourself, ‘Man, that’s triple what I’m getting,'” Kelce confessed.

However, all that matters to him in the end are wins and rings. “It’s all fun until you end up somewhere where you don’t win. I prefer winning. That’s why I love the situation I’m in,” continued the 33-year-old.

However, the tight end also admitted, he also worries. “If I was really going for it, I think I could easily get out for what I’m worth, in quotes.” Kelce is still committed to the Chiefs through 2025, inclusive, earning $17.3 million last year.
