After the win against the Los Angeles Rams, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is clearly self-critical. So he absolutely has to “turn off the stupid play” he makes in every game.
Munich – Week 12 actually went well for the Kansas City Chiefs. Against the Los Angeles Rams, a 26:10 victory was achieved, rank 1 in the AFC could be maintained by the franchise. And yet quarterback Patrick Mahomes lamented his team’s missed chances after the game.
The team entered the red zone six times and only scored one touchdown: a three-yard run by running back Isiah Pacheco in the third quarter.
The Rams defence stood firm on all other attempts and the Chiefs had to settle for a total of four field goals. Mahomes also threw a nasty interception into the hands of safety Nick Scott. A throw that kept the Rams in the game unnecessarily in the final period.
Mahomes unhappy with own performance
“Especially in the redzone, we have to perform better,” Mahomes said after the game. “I have to perform at a higher level and I have to avoid the one stupid play I make every game. If I can do that, then everything will be fine. “
In his attempt to throw a pass to tight end Travis Kelce, the playmaker made the interception. “I threw the ball right into my opponent’s gut. I have to make sure I don’t do that anymore, especially in the red zone. Because those are the throws that kill you in big games.”
He continued, “We’ve got to get a lot better offensively, especially me.”
Mahomes had recorded 27 of 42 passing for 320 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He also recorded 36 rushing yards.
