Kansas City Chiefs and Kelce screw the cap – is Beckham Jr. coming now?

Where will Odell Beckham Jr. go next? The Kansas City Chiefs are said to be interested in the wide receiver. This is backed up by a process surrounding Travis Kelce’s contract – and the Chiefs star wouldn’t be averse to it either.

Munich – The rumours about a signing of Odell Beckham Jr. by the Kansas City Chiefs do not stop.

Now they have been fuelled by a prominent figure: Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

The Chiefs are preparing something

The tight end confirmed on the “New Heights” podcast, which he records with his brother, that the Chiefs have restructured his contract.

That leaves the franchise with $3.2 million in cap space.

Kelce wants OBJ on Chiefs

“It’s the beginning of a change, isn’t it?” the 33-year-old said. Cap space, after all, you free up to be able to do something.

Addressing the OBJ rumours, Kelce said, “I want them to be true. “

“There’s something in the air,” Kelce says of Beckham Jr.

But he also admitted: “I didn’t hear anything in the locker room or on the club premises.” Still, “there’s certainly something in the air, and if that means OBJ …” he said ambiguously, without finishing his sentence.

Beckham Jr. is currently a free agent, curing a torn cruciate ligament suffered in the last Super Bowl with the L.A. Rams against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 3.2 million dollars might still be too little for a commitment, but it’s a start.

Will Mahomes and OBJ play together soon?

According to Aaron Wilson of “Pro Football Network”, the Chiefs are a “strong candidate”.

OBJ is currently considering his options. And Wilson emphasised the prospect of the wide receiver playing with one of the best quarterbacks in the league: “The possible connection between OBJ and Patrick Mahomes is fascinating.
