Cincinnati Bengals: Receiver legend Chad Johnson lived in the stadium for two years.

Surprise revelation from Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. The six-time Pro Bowler reveals in an interview that he lived in the Cincinnati Bengals’ stadium for a full two years

Curiose revelation from Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson! The former NFL player has revealed that he lived in the Cincinnati Bengals stadium for the first two years of his career.

Speaking to Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe on the YouTube channel “Club Shay Shay”, Johnson explained why he lived extremely frugally, especially during his early days as a professional football player.

“You have to remember that I lived in the stadium my first two years because I didn’t want to spend money,” the former wide receiver explained.

“Why are you telling me to rent a house, buy a house or rent a condo when everything I need is right here at Paul Brown Stadium? Showers, cafeteria, TV, couch, game console. What’s the point? “

Bengals coach made him move out

But he couldn’t stay in the stadium of his longtime franchise forever; he played for the Bengals from 2001 to 2010. Already a star in his third NFL year, the pass receiver was urged to move out by then Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis.

“That’s when Marvin came to me and said, ‘It’s time for you to take responsibility. Spread your wings. Get your own place,'” Johnson recalled, “I moved right down the street.”

In his ten seasons with the Bengals, Johnson recorded 751 catches for 10,783 yards and 66 touchdowns – still a franchise record today.
