AFC Championship Game at neutral site? Bills and Chiefs fans buying tickets in droves.

Great fan interest in a possible AFC Championship Game at a neutral site. Chiefs and Bills fans are buying tickets in a flurry even though their teams aren’t in the next playoff round yet

The anticipation for this game is especially high.

In the first 24 hours that tickets could be purchased for a possible AFC Championship Game on a neutral floor, more than 50,000 Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills season ticket holders snapped them up, NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports.

Because the Buffalo Bills’ regular-season game against the Cincinnati Bengals was cancelled and not replayed due to Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest, the Bills have one less game of the season on their record. Accordingly, they were also unable to compete with the Chiefs for the AFC’s No. 1 seed and the corresponding home field until the Super Bowl.

Great interest in possible Championship Game

To compensate for this disadvantage, the NFL has decided to hold a possible Championship Game between the two teams at a neutral site. So the game would be at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on January 29.

Before that can happen, however, both teams have the Divisional Round on the agenda. The Chiefs host the Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Bills play host to the Cincinnati Bengals.
