Since his injury in week one, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been replaced by Cooper Rush. The 28-year-old hasn’t lost a game since. Still, he’ll soon have to take a seat on the bench again.
Munich – Cooper Rush continues to convince. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback, who has replaced the injured Dak Prescott since his injury in week one, has won each of his four starts in the NFL so far, even setting a franchise record. No Cowboys quarterback has achieved this before.
Nevertheless, the 28-year-old is likely to be back on the bench soon. Jerry Jones, owner and general manager of the franchise, confirmed this in a recent radio interview. He told local radio station “105.3 FM” in Dallas that he would not see a scenario in which the team would play with Rush instead of a healthy Prescott.
However, it is still unclear when the 29-year-old will be able to return to the court. “I know he’s going to go out every day and make progress to be able to grip the ball. He’s going to have a busy week and he’s going to work hard on himself to get ready for it,” Jones said of Prescott’s current health.
Is Dak Prescott coming back in week five?
The latter broke his thumb against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week one and has since been replaced by Cooper Rush. This season, the true backup quarterback threw four touchdowns. In the process, he completed over 60 percent of his passes for 737 yards and delivered two game-winning drives.
In week five, the Dallas Cowboys face the Los Angeles Rams. Whether Dak Prescott will then lead his team again, the next few days should show.
