The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense will change. Patrick Mahomes is sure of that. After the trade of Tyreek Hill, the load should be spread across more shoulders.
Munich – In the upcoming season, Patrick Mahomes will have to do without Tyreek Hill. The wide receiver was traded to the Miami Dolphins at the end of March. After the first practice sessions, one thing is already clear for Mahomes: the Chiefs’ offense will change.
“Everybody’s going to be involved. There’s not going to be just one guy. Sure, Travis (Kelce) is going to rack up a lot of completions and a lot of yards, but each of the receivers are going to have big days. That’s something we can use to our advantage,” the 26-year-old said.
Mahomes: Competition will help Chiefs
The superstar quarterback is confident in his receivers. “It’s a deep receiver room. It’s hard to say who’s going to make it because we have so many good receivers. But that’s what you want. You want those guys to have to fight every day to make the squad. That’s what’s going to help us.”
In his four years as a starter, Mahomes threw 45 percent of his passes to Hill or Klece. The loss of the former will have to be made up for in the upcoming season. To that end, the Chiefs have certainly made prominent additions in JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and rookie Skyy Moore.
After losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game, the 2020 Super Bowl winners are targeting their next title.
