Four games this season and a protracted back injury: the playing time went quite unhappily for Adrian Peterson. That’s why he’s not thinking about ending his career yet, but wants to continue playing in 2022.
Munich – Adrian Peterson played in four games this season. Three times he played for the Tennessee Titans, once for the Seattle Seahawks. In these four games he scored two touchdowns. However, the 36-year-old has been out since Week 13 with a back injury and ended the season on the Injured Reserve List.
Peterson is not thinking about ending his career yet: “I can’t end my career like this. That’s why I’m going into the offseason with the mindset that I’m going to keep playing. I still love the game.” Moreover, he added: “I think I can still play at a high level, also because I’m a lot further mentally than I was last year.”
Another commitment to the Seahawks seems unlikely. Still, the free agent didn’t miss the opportunity to praise the Seahawks: “I’ve been fortunate enough to play for a lot of different organisations and I can say that this one might be the best experience I’ve ever had.”
Despite this, Peterson already has plans for after his active football career. After several conversations with Pete Carroll, he is said to be considering a career in coaching.
The 36-year-old appeared in 184 games in the NFL, playing for the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Football Team, Detroit Lions, and 2021 Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks. He scored 120 rushing touchdowns and ranks fifth on the list with the most rushing yards in NFL history.
AP rushed for 2,097 yards in 2012 for the Minnesota Vikings and is one of four running backs to break that mark of 2,000 yards in a season.
