NFL: Kansas City Chiefs defeat Dallas Cowboys in defensive battle

Thanks to a stellar defensive performance, the Kansas City Chiefs stop Dak Prescott and Co. NFL Newsrecaps the 10 p.m. games.

Munich – In addition to the top game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs, two other games were on the schedule in the late window:

Dallas Cowboys at Kansas City Chiefs 9:19

The duel of two of the best offences in the league started off perfectly for the Kansas City Chiefs. After a defensive stop, tight end Travis Kelce scored the first touchdown of the game after only a few minutes.

The Chiefs were also strong defensively at the start. After a fumble by Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott and another drive later, the Chiefs extended their lead. The Cowboys were unable to catch the fast Tyreek Hill in particular.

The wide receiver stood at 110 scrimmage yards at the end of the game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was a bit shaky after his monster performance the week before. Although he led the Chiefs with 260 passing yards and ultimately the win, he also committed a fumble and an interception.

Dak Prescott struggled with the Chiefs pass rush and made several mistakes as a result. 216 passing yards and ended up facing a fumble and two interceptions.

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had to leave the game early due to a concussion. For the Cowboys, Dalton Schultz (six receptions, 55 receiving yards) and Michael Gallup (five receptions, 44 receiving yards) were the playmaker’s favourites.

Man of the match was defensive end Chris Jones, who put an exclamation mark with 3.5 sacks and is emblematic of the ever-improving Chiefs defence. L’Jarius Sneed also impressed with an interception shortly before the end of the game.

The Chiefs improve to 7-4 with the win, while the Cowboys remain on course for the playoffs with a record of 7-3.

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks 23-13

The Arizona Cardinals again had to do without quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in the division duel against the Seattle Seahawks. Because Murray was missing due to an ankle injury, Colt McCoy was again allowed to start.

The actual backup showed an appealing performance and ended up with 328 passing yards and two touchdowns. He found his favourite target in tight end Zach Ertz. The veteran produced 88 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

On the other hand, superstar Russell Wilson was still feeling the effects of his long injury layoff. The Seahawks’ playmaker delivered a decent game with 207 passing yards, but still looked a little rusty at times and missed easy throws.

Wide receiver Tyler Lockett was able to break away from the Cardinals’ defenders again and again and made some big plays – in the end he had 115 receiving yards.

The Cardinals maintain their lead in the NFC with a record of 9-2, while the Seahawks have just three wins and seven losses.

Cincinnati Bengals at Las Vegas Raiders 32-13

Clear affair between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Las Vegas Raiders. Led by an outstanding Joe Mixon, the Bengals gave an overmatched Raiders defence no chance.

The running back ended up with 123 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Joe Burrow had a quieter evening, putting up solid numbers with 159 passing yards and one touchdown thrown. Rookie kicker Even McPherson had a great day – he made three field goals from over 50 yards away.

For the Raiders, quarterback Derek Carr’s offence could do little against a strong Bengals defence. Quarterback Derek Carr again made mistakes and had an interception and a fumble. His 215 passing yards and a thrown touchdown could not prevent the defeat.

The bright spot in the Raiders offence was once again tight end Darren Waller, who racked up 116 receiving yards.

The loss leaves the Raiders with an even record of five wins and five losses, while the Bengals are back in the playoff race with six wins and four losses.
