Following the release of wide receiver Henry Ruggs, the Las Vegas Raiders are looking for new pass receivers and are testing a total of four possible additions. A quarterback may also audition.
Munich – There are currently many problems with the Las Vegas Raiders. First head coach Jon Gruden had to resign after the revelation of racist statements, then receiver Henry Ruggs caused a car accident under the influence of alcohol and disregarding the speed limit, in which a woman was killed.
Despite the signing of DeSean Jackson, the franchise is still looking for possible additions at the receiver position after the dismissal of Ruggs. Sportstalk 790 reports that the team is currently testing four possible candidates: Jaelen Strong, Jeff Badet, Gary Jennings and Marqise Lee.
Quarterback Hogan also auditioned
Strong, who was selected by the Houston Texans in the 2015 draft, was not on any squads after being released by the Cleveland Browns in 2019. Badet participated in Atlanta Falcons camp that summer before an injury placed him on the Injured Reserve list, from which the team released him.
Jennings was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 but lasted only half a season without playing a game. He later played briefly for the Miami Dolphins and was on the practice squad for the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, plus he was on the field for the Indianapolis Colts’ camp before getting injured.
Lee, in turn, was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014 and spent six seasons there before being waived last season due to Covid-19. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers in May but was released a few days later.
In addition to the four receivers, Kevin Hogan also got to audition for the Raiders. The quarterback was already under contract with the Browns, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos, Washington and the Cincinnati Bengals.
