Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Bruce Arians doesn’t take part in meetings of the Offense

Head Coach Bruce Arians played one himself as a quarterback. Now the 69-year-old reveals in an interview that he still doesn’t attend the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offensive meetings.

Munich – Actually, it seems to be self-evident that the head coach of an NFL team takes part in the offensive meetings of his team if he himself used to play quarterback.

But Bruce Arians has now revealed that this is not necessarily the case. The head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers explained in the “Colin Cowherd Podcast”: “I get way too much credit for our offence, I don’t even go to the meetings.”

He continued, “Byron (Leftwich, offensive coordinator, ed.) runs this offense from top to bottom and doesn’t get enough credit for it. “

Leftwich doesn’t get enough credit

Accordingly, on Monday Arians takes a look at the offensive game plan for the following weekend’s match. On Tuesday, in turn, he places on Leftwich’s desk some ideas on which player should be used in which position. He also leaves comments on possible routes and what to do in the red zone.

That will be followed by a conversation with the offensive coordinator on Wednesday to discuss any questions.

Despite his obviously significant role on the team, however, Leftwich has received little attention or recognition thus far. Perhaps that will change after the upcoming game against the Chicago Bears.
