Dallas Cowboys win overtime thriller, Arizona Cardinals still undefeated

The Dallas Cowboys prevailed in a spectacular game against the New England Patriots. The Texans are now celebrating their fifth win in a row after their opening defeat.

The two teams had an open exchange of blows already in the first quarter. The Patriots ended their first drive with a touchdown run by Damien Harris. Dallas answered with a touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to Blake Jarwin.

New England was also successful again in the following drive when quarterback Mac Jones gave his tight end Hunter Henry a touchdown pass.

After that, however, mistakes piled up on both sides. The Cowboys missed two opportunities to score a touchdown due to ball losses.

First Prescott threw a tipped interception into the opponent’s end zone. After Dallas’ special teams blocked a punt, again providing good field position, the Cowboys’ offense got to the opposing 1-yard line. However, Prescott lost the ball when trying to get into the end zone himself.

The Patriots went into the halftime break with a 14-10 lead.

Now Dallas had 2:11 minutes to score again. With success: A field goal provided the equaliser and thus the overtime.

After the Patriots could not capitalise on their possession, the Cowboys won the game with a 35-yard touchdown pass from Prescott to Lamb.

The Dallas quarterback’s record is remarkable: 445 passing yards, three touchdown passes and one interception. “We kept believing in ourselves,” Prescott said immediately after the game, praising his team’s season progress: “We kept improving. This is a special squad. I’m proud to be a part of it.” 

Mac Jones, New England’s rookie playmaker, recorded 229 passing yards, two touchdown passes and one interception. As a result of the loss, New England stands at a 2-4 record.  

Arizona Cardinals at Cleveland Browns 37:14

The Arizona Cardinals have extended their winning streak and remain the NFL’s only unbeaten team after six games. Quarterback Kyler Murray excelled with 229 passing yards and four touchdown passes.

Impressively, Murray is the first Cardinals quarterback since 1950 to earn a quarterback rating of at least 100 in five of the first six games of the season.

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins caught two touchdown passes. On defense, Markus Golden and Jordan Hicks stood out with two sacks each.  

Baker Mayfield, the Browns’ quarterback, threw for 234 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Browns now stand at a 3-3 record.

Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos 34-24

The Las Vegas Raiders won their first game after the resignation of head coach Jon Gruden.

Quarterback Derek Carr threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns. The best man on defence was Maxx Crosby with three sacks. Broncos playmaker Teddy Bridgewater threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns. However, he also made three interceptions;

While the Raiders are now at four wins and two losses, the Broncos have a 3-3 record.
