NFL: Green Bay Packers Sign Christian Watson to a Mega Contract

The Green Bay Packers have signed Christian Watson to a lucrative contract. This secures the wide receiver’s long-term commitment to the team.

A mega contract in the world’s top football league. The Green Bay Packers have signed wide receiver Christian Watson to a four-year contract worth $110.5 million, according to “ESPN.” $31 million of that is a signing bonus.

Watson was actually set to enter the final year of his contract after signing a one-year extension last September.

The previous year, the athlete had suffered a torn ACL, from which Watson still had to recover at the start of the 2025 season.

Last season, the receiver—who was drafted by the Cheeseheads in 2022—tallied 35 receptions for 611 yards and six touchdowns in ten games.

With an average of 61.1 yards per game, he not only set a new career high but also impressed the team’s management in Wisconsin with his strong comeback.

Packers sign Watson to long-term deal

The brief 2025 extension gave Watson the necessary breathing room at the time to prepare for his return to the field without pressure. After he succeeded, the Packers obviously had no problem extending his contract long-term.

At $27.62 million per year, Watson ranks 15th among the highest-paid receivers in the NFL, but the magical $30 million mark is still a ways off.

By the way: This is already the second contract the Packers have signed with a receiver this offseason. Previously, they extended slot receiver Jayden Reed’s contract for three years and $50.25 million.
