Miami Dolphins: GM Sullivan does not rule out trade of Tua Tagovailoa

The Miami Dolphins are in the midst of a rebuild and urgently need draft picks. After Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb, the quarterback could be the next victim of the restructuring measures. Four teams are being touted as possible buyers.

The future of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with the Miami Dolphins is completely open.

That’s what Jon-Eric Sullivan, the new general manager of the Florida franchise, told reporters on Tuesday on the sidelines of the NFL Scouting Combine.

“A trade is possible. Tua wants to play, he and his agents believe he can still play at a high level,” Sullivan said. However, the 27-year-old and his advisors have not requested a trade, the GM added.

However, Tua recently stated that he would not be opposed to a fresh start with another team.

One thing is clear: the Dolphins will select at least one quarterback in the upcoming draft, possibly even two. The team is undergoing radical change following the dismissal of Mike McDaniel and the arrival of Sullivan.

Dolphins in rebuild: Are there picks for Tua?

Top stars such as Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb have already been released to create much-needed salary cap space. More departures could follow.

Now the Dolphins desperately need draft picks, which they could get in a Tua trade.

However, it remains to be seen whether there is a market for the injury-prone quarterback, who has had a disappointing 2025 season.

The Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, or Indianapolis Colts are being touted as possible landing spots.
