Bad Bunny is one of the big winners at this year’s Grammy Awards.

The Puerto Rican, who will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show this coming Sunday, was awarded the Grammy for Best Album on Sunday night in Los Angeles.

Incidentally, the 31-year-old singer also made music history with his album “DeBi TiRAR MaS FOToS.” For the first time in the history of the Grammy Awards, an album with lyrics written entirely in Spanish was honored. On “DeBi TiRAR MaS FOToS,” Bad Bunny mixes modern beats with traditional Puerto Rican music styles. The album is a tribute to his homeland of Puerto Rico, which also addresses cultural identity and colonialism.

Super Bowl: Bad Bunny criticizes ICE

Bad Bunny also used the big stage of the world’s most important music awards to send a political message against the controversial US immigration authority ICE.

“Before I thank God, I say: ICE out!” the 31-year-old made a clear statement and was celebrated by the guests in the hall with standing ovations, cheers, and long applause. Next Sunday, he will make his next big appearance at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara during halftime of the NFL final between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

Super Bowl: US President Donald Trump cancels visit

Donald Trump will not be there. The US president had criticized the NFL’s decision to have Bad Bunny perform at the Super Bowl as “absolutely ridiculous.”

However, the 79-year-old cited the long journey from the East Coast to California as the reason for his absence.
