NFL: Dallas Cowboys vs. Kansas City Chiefs Thanksgiving game smashes TV record

Over 57 million Americans watched the Cowboys’ narrow victory over the Chiefs on Thanksgiving. That’s a new record.

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 in an exciting, high-quality game on Thanksgiving.

The match not only thrilled spectators at AT&T Stadium, it also set a record for TV ratings for NFL regular season games.

According to The Athletic, 57.2 million people in the US watched the game on CBS. That’s over 15 million more than the previous record-breaking game. In 2022, the Cowboys’ game against the New York Giants – also on Thanksgiving – attracted 42.1 million viewers.

Even the early Thanksgiving game between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers (24:31) had more TV viewers (47.7 million) than the Cowboys-Giants game three years ago.

Fans in the US were able to watch the Cowboys’ new record-breaking game against the Chiefs not only on CBS, but also via streaming on Fubo, Paramount+, and NFL+. It can therefore be assumed that the game was watched by many more Americans overall.
