Matthew Stafford set a record for the most consecutive touchdown passes without an interception in Week 13.
The Los Angeles Rams quarterback threw his 28th consecutive touchdown pass without an interception against the Carolina Panthers on the 13th match day.
The 37-year-old surpassed NFL legend Tom Brady, who achieved the feat in the 2010 season for the New England Patriots and with whom he had shared first place since the previous week.
NFL: Matthew Stafford’s record streak comes to an end
It took less than three minutes for Stafford to find wide receiver Davante Adams for a 4-yard touchdown.
However, the veteran was unable to extend the record further. The streak came to an end on the Rams’ next drive when his pass to tight end Colby Parkinson was intercepted by Panthers safety Nick Scott.
Stafford’s last interception to date occurred in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Ultimately, it was a tough day for the entire California team. The Panthers won 31-28, ending the Rams’ six-game winning streak.
