The Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC’s top game against the Green Bay Packers. However, neither team covered themselves in glory.
At the end of the 10th match day of the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles continued their winning streak. In a game dominated by defense, the Eagles prevailed 10-7 at the Green Bay Packers’ Lambeau Field.
Both teams went into halftime with the score at 0-0. Before the third quarter, both teams had managed just six punts and two fumbles, one on each side.
Accordingly, the statistics are also poor: Jalen Hurts completed 15 of his 26 passes for 183 yards and one touchdown, and he also ran for 27 yards.
Saquon Barkley only managed 60 rushing yards on 22 carries, which is significantly less than three yards per carry. With his 41 receiving yards, he still managed to rack up over 100 scrimmage yards. The best receiver was DeVonta Smith with 69 yards and the only touchdown. A.J. Brown caught just two balls for 13 yards.
Green Bay Packers lose due to turnovers
The Packers lost mainly because of their own mistakes. Shortly before the end, Josh Jacobs (74 rushing yards, one touchdown, 33 receiving yards) fumbled a ball on his own 40-yard line.
Even before the break, Jordan Love (20/36, 176 yards) had a turnover that could have resulted in points. With a rating of around 69, he had another weak game after he and the Packers lost to the Carolina Panthers the week before. For the first time since 2013, the Packers have lost two home games in a row.
In the absence of the seriously injured Tucker Kraft, the best receiver was Christian Watson, who had just returned from a serious injury, with only 45 yards.
The loss leaves the Packers at 5-3-1, a setback in the race for the NFC North crown. The Eagles, on the other hand, continue to extend their comfortable lead in the NFC East with seven wins and two losses. In week eleven, both teams will face opponents from each other’s division: The Eagles welcome the Detroit Lions, while the Packers travel to the New York Giants.
