After being placed on injured reserve after week three, fullback Jakob Johnson from Stuttgart is now set to return to the roster.
The Houston Texans announced some good news for German fans on Wednesday: fullback Jakob Johnson is set to return from the injured reserve list.
The Texans have started the 21-day window. Johnson is therefore allowed to resume training, but must join the active roster within the next three weeks. If this does not happen for any reason, Johnson’s NFL season will automatically be over.
Jakob Johnson: Possible appearance against Denver Broncos
Johnson, who hails from Stuttgart, got off to a solid start in the first few weeks of the 2025 season. He played fullback in the first two games, where he impressed primarily in his blocking role and was also active in the special teams.
However, in week three, he suffered a hamstring injury – a strain in the thigh muscle that is common in the NFL and often puts players out of action for several weeks.

Whether and when Johnson will be activated is still open. Theoretically, he could already be used in the game against the Denver Broncos.
