Micah Parsons returns to the Cowboys for the first time as a Packers player. A very special occasion.
Sunday night into Monday morning marks a special return for Micah Parsons. The defensive superstar returns to his old home, the Dallas Cowboys, for the first time as a Green Bay Packers player.
The 26-year-old will then have his first opportunity to take down his longtime quarterback Dak Prescott with a sack. For Parsons, this is a very special thought.
“It’s going to be painful,” he said in an interview with the Associated Press ahead of the Packers’ away game. “He’s my buddy. He’s always been like a good mentor to me. But you know how it is. He always told me it would be a great duel when I played against him. So I’m excited to see what Sunday brings.”
Parsons remains professional ahead of Cowboys return
Emotionally, the game will certainly not be easy for Parsons, but the athlete remains professional. “I accepted my fate weeks ago when the trade happened.”
He continued: “For me, it’s just about playing another game and doing what I do best: being a destructive football player. I think the media and the fans are trying to blow it up into such a big deal. But I just see it as another game at AT&T.”
Parsons’ return to Texas in Week 4 is one of the most exciting stories in the NFL, as the defensive end’s trade to the Cheeseheads was quite a shock to many.
