Travis Kelce and coach Andy Reid clashed once again during the Kansas City Chiefs’ first win of the season.
The Kansas City Chiefs can breathe a sigh of relief, at least for now. In the third game of the 2025 NFL regular season, the reigning AFC champions secured their first win with a 22-9 victory over the New York Giants.
Travis Kelce and Andy Reid clashed in the first half of the Chiefs’ hard-fought victory. During a heated exchange, the head coach pushed his star tight end aside with his upper body.
When asked about this scene, Reid explained the situation afterwards and downplayed the verbal altercation with Kelce.
“I love Travis and his passion. That’s okay with me. We didn’t have enough of that in the second quarter. He knows when to back off, but he also knows when to go full throttle. I love that about him. The guy is fully committed. Sometimes I just have to be the cop,” Reid said.
Reid vs. Kelce: Memories of Super Bowl 2023
It wasn’t the first time Reid and Kelce had clashed in this way. There was a similarly heated moment between the two on the way to winning Super Bowl 2023.
“Unfortunately, my passion comes out in ways that can be negative, but I’m grateful that he knows I want to win this thing with him more than anything else,” Kelce said at the time on NBC about his dispute with the Chiefs coach.
