250 million contract for Russell Wilson with the Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson has signed a five-year contract extension with the Denver Broncos. With this, the quarterback commits himself to the club from Colorado for seven years and earns almost 300 million dollars.

Munich/Denver – A big injection of motivation for Russell Wilson!

The quarterback superstar gets a fat contract extension from the Denver Broncos shortly before the start of the NFL season. The franchise confirmed this on Thursday.

As “ESPN” reports, the new contract, which extends the current two-year contract for five more years, includes a total of 245 million dollars, of which 165 million dollars are guaranteed. In terms of guaranteed money, this is the third largest amount in NFL history behind Deshaun Watson ($230 million) and Kyler Murray ($189.5 million).

Lots of commitment to stability at the QB position

Bottom line is a seven-year deal between Broncos and Wilson worth $296 million.

The Broncos already paid a lot for the trade in March. To get Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks, the Broncos left two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth-round pick on the table, among other things. The 33-year-old is expected to finally bring stability at the quarterback position after years of athletic problems.
