The US state of Texas has been hit by severe flooding. The Houston Texans want to help.
A flash flood in the center of the US state of Texas has shaken the US. According to official reports, at least 27 people have died.
During the night from Thursday to Friday, the level of the Guadalupe River rose by eight meters within a short period of time, explained Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick.
The severe flooding since Friday morning took many by surprise. The search for missing persons is in full swing.
The Houston Texans are also supporting those affected. The NFL team is donating $500,000 to help those in need in connection with the flood disaster.
The Texans shared a statement on social media: “The tragic news from our home state weighs heavily on our hearts. It is especially heartbreaking that many children are still missing. We pray that they will be reunited with their families soon.”

Among other things, a girls’ summer camp was destroyed by the floodwaters. According to Sheriff Larry L. Leitha, more than 20 participants are still missing.
