NFL: Are the Kansas City Chiefs moving? Missouri governor signs bill

Are the Kansas City Chiefs leaving Missouri? The state’s governor is trying to prevent this with a bill.

Will the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals remain based in the US state of Missouri? It’s a question that has been on the minds of fans and, above all, local politicians for some time.

Now Missouri has done its part to keep the teams, which are located on the border with Kansas, in the state.

According to the Associated Press, Governor Mike Kehoe signed a bill on Saturday that will provide hundreds of millions in state funds for the $1.15 billion renovation of Arrowhead Stadium and a new home for the Royals.

Chiefs and Royals must decide

In turn, officials in Kansas have made the teams an offer for a new stadium – with a roof and significantly higher costs. The deadline for accepting the offer is reportedly June 30.

The ball is now in both teams’ court. They must decide on one of the two options.
