The New England Patriots win another NFL game after four games without victory. Cam Newton is convincing in his comeback victory over the New York Jets.

The New England Patriots have finished their losing streak of four NFL games. Head Coach Bill Belichick’s team celebrated a narrow 30-27 victory over the New York Jets.

Morale was also a factor in the success over the 9-0 Jets, as the Patriots were still 17-27 about six minutes before the end. Quarterback Cam Newton, like his position colleague Joe Flacco on the other side, was convincing.

Newton sets first exclamation mark
Already after five minutes the man, who had to put in much negative criticism in the past weeks, showed up. Newton runs a 5-yard touchdown into the goal and thus countered the early field goal of the jets.

Then the team from New Jersey turned up the heat. Flacco threw a spectacular 50-yard pass to Breshad Perriman, which put the Jets back in the lead.

After a wide field goal on both sides, it was Jamison Crowder who ran a 20-yard pass into the end zone just before the break – 20:10 for the Jets.

Flacco’s decisive mistake
In the third quarter the jets, again in the person of Perriman, countered a touchdown by Patriots running back Rex Burkhead. Another fied goal brought the Patriots up to seven points.

Among the Patriots, receiver Jakobi Meyers also impressed with twelve captured passes for 169 yards.

An interception by Flacco (18/25 passes, 262 passing yards, 3 touchdown passes) in the last quarter brought New England the equalizer. Again, Newton (27/35 passes, 274 passing yards, 16 resting yards) ran the final yard and scored his second rushing touchdown of the evening.

A 51-yard field goal from Patriots kicker Nick Folk, with the clock running out, gave the Patriots a 30-27 final score and their first win after four consecutive defeats.

New England are now 3-5, with the Jets remaining without a win at 9-0. The Patriots will face the Baltimore Ravens next week, with the Jets meeting the Los Angeles Chargers.
