NFL: Preparing for the game in Green Bay – New Orleans Saints put quarterbacks in the fridge

Spencer Rattler has a frosty experience in the cafeteria before the away game against the Green Bay Packers. The film “Cool Runnings” serves as a role model.

The “Frozen Tundra” of the Green Bay Packers is legendary.

Very wintry and uncomfortable conditions are also expected for the Packers’ game against the New Orleans Saints. The weather forecast definitely predicts temperatures in the minus range for the game.

In the muggy climate of New Orleans, however, the thermometer continues to show summery temperatures, with up to 25 degrees expected in Louisiana over the Christmas period.

Quarterback coach Andrew Janocko used a special trick to prepare the Saints’ signal callers for the game in Green Bay in preparation for the frosty away game.

“This morning Jaocko took us to the freezer room in our cafeteria. It was minus 12 degrees there. We went through the whole script there. That helped us a lot,” said quarterback Spencer Rattler. ‘I hope it won’t be quite as cold in Green Bay. But we’re definitely ready.’

“Cool Runnings” as a role model

Janocko himself explained with a wink that he got the idea from the movie “Cool Runnings,” in which a Jamaican bobsled team prepares for the Winter Olympics.

In any case, the quarterback coach is very familiar with the cold, having worked in the NFC North from 2015 to 2023. There he worked for the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears before moving to the much warmer New Orleans.
