Green Bay Packers suspend wide receiver Romeo Doubs

The Green Bay Packers have removed wide receiver Romeo Doubs from the roster for the upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams for disciplinary reasons.

Before the season, Romeo Doubs was considered a potential difference-maker for the Green Bay Packers, but he is currently more of a disruptive force off the field.

The Packers have now drawn the consequences and suspended the wide receiver for the upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams. Doubs probably skipped practice during the week because he was unhappy with his role in the offense.

“Unfortunately, we had to make a tough decision and remove Romeo Doubs from the squad for the upcoming game. His behavior during the week had a negative impact on the team and we had to take action.

We are disappointed, but at the same time positive that we will welcome him back as an important part of our team next week,” reads a statement from General Manager Brian Gutekunst.

Packers with receiver concerns

Doubs has 169 receiving yards this season and amassed 674 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

Without Doubs, the Packers are pretty thin at the receiver positions for the game against the Rams.

Christian Watson is in danger of being ruled out with an ankle injury and is “unlikely” to play. Tight end Luke Musgrave did not practice during the week, he is also suffering from an ankle injury and it is “questionable” whether he will be able to play.

As of today, only four nominal receivers in the Packers’ squad are fit: Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, Bo Melton and Malik Heath.
