Josh Jacobs is facing a bitter record. His new quarterback Jordan Love wants to prevent that. There is little time left
The NFL – a league full of records. Josh Jacobs is about to set a less pleasing record. The Green Bay Packers’ running back has already caught 197 passes in his five-year NFL career. None of them resulted in a touchdown.
The 26-year-old is therefore only five passes away from Gerald Riggs’ negative record of 201 passes caught without scoring. Riggs, who once played for the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders, and Jacobs are the only two NFL players with more than 150 passes caught without a touchdown.
If Packers quarterback Jordan Love is to be trusted, Riggs will remain the sole record holder. Asked about his teammate’s possible record, Love told “Bleacher Report”: “No, that’s not going to happen.”
He went on to say, “I’m surprised he hasn’t caught any touchdowns yet.” Something the players want to work on together: “I texted him and said, ‘Bro, we’re going to get you a touchdown, for sure’. The first pass to him could be a touchdown, who knows. “
This is Love and Jacobs’ first season together. The running back transferred from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Wisconsin team in the offseason. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice so far and has already scored 46 touchdowns in 73 games. As is well known, he has yet to catch one.
The Packers’ season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil offers the first chance
