Cologne (SID) – German Super Bowl winner Sebastian Vollmer has paid an emotional tribute to quarterback superstar Tom Brady as he bids farewell to the National Football League. “He is a lifelong friend. We are all lucky to have lived in such an era of football, to have experienced him. Athletes like this don’t come around every few years,” Vollmer told SID.
The former offensive tackle won two Super Bowls with Brady, 44, with the New England Patriots, and the superstar later wrote the foreword to his book. “He is one of the greatest athletes the world has ever known,” Vollmer said. “To me, he’s right up there with Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali or Pele – even if that’s difficult across sports. I feel good for him today and I’m happy for him.”
Brady is ending his once-in-a-lifetime career after 22 NFL years with seven Super Bowl rings. He made the announcement on Tuesday. His most recent loss was to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round of the playoffs with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Vollmer sees a great career off the field for Brady. “He’s got his fingers in a lot of things,” he said, “The TB12 method, business, his clothing brand, his NFT stuff, he’s got a crypto company – he’s so multi-talented that everything he touches turns to gold. “
