Update, February 1, 10:39 p.m.: Legendary Spongebob song plays during Nickelodeon broadcast

The Super Bowl will not only be shown on “CBS” in the USA, but also on the children’s channel “Nickelodeon”. And it has something very special in store for its viewers.

As the channel announced, the broadcast will open with a sequence of the legendary song “Sweet Victory” from the series “Spongebob”. The song was first released in an episode in 2001 and has enjoyed cult status ever since.

Fans have been calling for years for the anthem to become part of an NFL broadcast on “Nickelodeon.”

Update, January 30, 18:00: Jersey colors for the Super Bowl announced

Twelve days before the big showdown, the jersey colors for the Super Bowl have been announced. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs will play in red and the San Francisco 49ers in white – just like in 2020, when the Kansas City Chiefs prevailed.

For those with a strong sense of superstition: one team has worn a white jersey in every Super Bowl. In 37 of the 57 finals so far, the team wearing white has come out on top. If that’s not a glimmer of hope for the 49ers.

Last year, the Chiefs, who wore white at the time, also prevailed against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The San Francisco 49ers are the big neighborhood rival in the Bay Area from the Raiders’ days in Oakland. The Kansas City Chiefs are the big division rival that has dominated the AFC West for years.

But it gets even tougher: the Kansas CIty Chiefs will spend the week before the Super Bowl right in the Raiders’ facility to prepare for the game. As the official host, they are entitled to do so.

The economic success for the city aside, the next two weeks can hardly go by too quickly for Raiders fans.
