Super Bowl 2023: “Kelce Bowl” by brothers Jason and Travis Kelce is already in full swing

In less than two weeks, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. While there are still a few days to go before the season climax in Glendale, Arizona, and the Pro Bowl Games are also coming up first, brothers Jason and Travis Kelce’s “Kelce Bowl” is already in full swing

Two weeks to go until the climax of the NFL season, Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.

When the Kansas City Chiefs will meet the Philadelphia Eagles, it will also be a clash of a special kind.

With Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Eagles centre Jason Kelce, two brothers meet in a Super Bowl for the first time in history. The joy on both sides for the “Kelce Bowl” is great, even if for once they don’t wish the brotherly heart well on this occasion.

“I have a Kansas City sweatshirt that I will wear for the next three hours. But that’s it for the rest of the year,” the 35-year-old Jason said after the Eagles’ NFC Championship Game win over the San Francisco 49ers, when brother Travis was still facing the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals:

“Win or lose, I’m not going to be a Chiefs fan anymore.” And then a few minutes after the game ended, Kelce confirmed his announcement again via “Twitter”: “I’m officially not a Chiefs fan anymore this season!!!

Super Bowl LVII: Jason and Travis Kelce face brother duel

Whichever Kelce ends up snatching victory at Arizona Cardinals’ State Farm Stadium, one winner is already certain in advance: “It’s a cool scenario – our mum can’t lose,” 33-year-old Travis was diplomatic after the win over the Bengals.

In general, both Kelces like to joke – in front of the cameras as well as on social media – and prefer to take the mickey out of each other in the process.

Responding to a tweet about the news that Earth had picked up a radio signal from a galaxy nine billion light years away, Jason winked a few days before the Conference Title Games, linking to his brother Travis, who cringed with laughter, “Oh crap!!!! Dad’s computer actually found an ET!!!”

So can we look forward to plenty of trash talk from Kelce not only around the game, but on the field as well? Not at all.

“You won’t see me trash talking too much because I respect and love my brother, but it’s definitely going to be an emotional game for us,” added Travis Kelce.

Super Bowl LVII: “Kelce Bowl” also special for Chiefs coach Andy Reid

Andy Reid, the Chiefs’ head coach, was especially excited about the prospect of Kelce vs. Kelce, having once brought both of them into the league himself.

Reid drafted Jason Kelce to Philadelphia in the sixth round of the 2011 draft before signing brother Travis to Kansas City in round three two years later.

“I’ve invested time in both of them. So I feel like I’m part of the family,” the 64-year-old explained.

Which of the two Kelces, who can each call a Super Bowl ring their own, ends up cheering and taking the lead again in the sibling rankings remains to be seen.

Before the Super Bowl aka “Kelce Bowl”, however, the Pro Bowl is still on the agenda next weekend. As is well known, however, without the brother and sister Kelce.
