Super Bowl 56 had a lot to offer – including a curious scene: Injured and inactive cornerback Vernon Hargreaves celebrated an interception with his Bengals teammates in the Los Angeles Rams’ end zone – wearing a hoodie and slippers.

When Bengals safety Jessie Bates had the right hunch in the second quarter and intercepted a pass from Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford in the end zone, Vernon Hargreaves literally flipped and was unstoppable.

The cornerback ran onto the field and celebrated the Cincinnati Bengals interception with his teammates.

The curious thing: Hargreaves was wearing a Bengals hoodie, along with socks and slippers – because the 26-year-old is injured and was therefore listed as inactive.

Kuriose action, unnecessary penalty

The crazy action caused the Bengals to concede arguably one of the most unnecessary penalties of the season, albeit one without quite the impact.

They had to start their next drive from the 10-yard line instead of the 20-yard line.
