Eagles or Chiefs to win Super Bowl? When it comes to sympathies, Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase has a clear opinion. And he’s not alone.
This coming weekend is the day: Super Bowl 59 between the Philadelphia Eagles and the defending champions Kansas City Chiefs will take place in New Orleans. The sympathies of countless NFL players are obviously with the Eagles. Especially those of the players who repeatedly have to play against the Chiefs in the AFC.
During the Pro Bowl weekend, Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase now spoke out and said he wants to see Eagles running back Saquon Barkley run the Chiefs’ defense into the ground.
“Everyone knows I’m not a Kansas City fan, so I’m hoping Saquon gets about 200 rushing yards in this game,” he said in an interview with ESPN.
Just a few days ago, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey said he would support the Eagles in the Super Bowl. Prior to that, he had criticized the referees’ performance in the game between the Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills.
By the way: the Chiefs’ last postseason loss came three years ago, when they lost to Chase and the Cincinnati Bengals, of all teams, in the AFC Championship Game.
Should Patrick Mahomes’ team win the final game again, Kansas City would be the first franchise in the modern Super Bowl era to win the title three times in a row.
